Middle Tyger Community Center provides holistic resources to enhance and support the lives of people in Spartanburg County.
We envision a vibrant community where children play, people work, and families thrive.

According to the 2021 Spartanburg School District 5 School Report Card, 54.4% of students in the district are living in poverty. Middle Tyger Community Center is the only safety net service provider in the District 5 community, specifically targeting this prevalent poverty.
Middle Tyger Community Center uses the Whole Family Approach Model to build on the strengths of the family while offering services that reduce poverty through action. This approach address the barriers that prevent families from making positive changes in their well-being. When an individual or family connects with MTCC, they first meet with a case manager and fill out an intake form to assess what resources, if any, the individual or family currently receives. The case manager works to connect them with resources that MTCC offers and assists with navigating complex systems such as Medicare, DSS, TANF, and foster care, as well as the completion of applications.
By having a comprehensive intake case management session to assess the strengths and needs of the family, a plan is created to establish goals, timelines to meet the goals, and milestones to celebrate short term successes.
