Andrea Moore is first and foremost an advocate for children and families. In her previous career as an attorney, she focused on family court matters involving children, enabling her to combine her legal experience with her passion for helping children. Nevertheless, Andrea felt frustrated by the limitations of the Family Court system. She longed for a more comprehensive approach to children's advocacy, one that encompassed quality education, access to healthcare, good parenting skills, and family financial stability.
In September 2013, Andrea came to work as Executive Director of Middle Tyger Community Center because she loves its holistic approach to community and family wellness. From early childhood and adult education; to health services and family counseling; to crisis assistance and job readiness, Andrea believes that everything Middle Tyger does makes families stronger and therefore children’s lives better.
Andrea earned her B.A. (1994) and J.D. (1999) from the University of South Carolina.
She is married to David Rice, and together they have 6 children and 6 pets.
