District Five Schools of Spartanburg County – Providing: Student and family services.
Spartanburg County Adult Education – Provides basic education, GED preparation, high school diploma, exit exam remediation,and ESOL classes.
District Five Family Ministries – A communication network among churches, schools, and the community for the purpose of identifying families in need of assistance within the District Five area. Providing: Food, utilities, medicine and other crisis intervention services.
First Steps of Spartanburg County – A results-oriented, statewide, early childhood education initiative designed to ensure that South Carolina children arrive at first grade healthy and ready to succeed. The goal is family strengthening through a Family Literacy Program. An Early Head Start Program is located at MTCC.
ReGenesis Healthcare Clinic – ReGenesis is a healthcare clinic located at Middle Tyger Community Center. The goal of ReGenesis is to remain dedicated to reducing and eliminating economic, racial, social, gender, age and other barriers to wellness in the communities that are served. The mission of RHC is to be “dedicated to the preservation and restoration of health in Spartanburg and Cherokee counties.” Please contact RHC at 864-721-2460 to schedule an appointment.
SC Vocational Rehabilitation Department (SCVRD) - SCVRD has been enabling South Carolinians with disabilities to prepare for, achieve and maintain competitive employment for 70 years. SCVRD serves more than 40,000 people with disabilities at any given time. Of those, more than 8,000 a year are placed in jobs paying competitive wages. Spartanburg Alcohol & Drug Abuse Commission - Provides educational, prevention, and treatment programs for alcohol and/or other drug abuse.
Mental Health Association of the Piedmont - Services include: Advocacy. Prevention/mental health education and wellness programs for youth and adults, including: self-esteem; stress management; peer pressure; problem-solving; conflict resolution; suicide prevention; and depression screening. American Association for Retired Persons (AARP) – AARP’s vision is to excel as a dynamic presence in every community, shaping and enriching the experience of aging for each member and for society. To bring that vision to life, AARP focuses its efforts and resources in four areas: Health and Wellness, Economic Security and Work, Long-term Care and Independent Living, and Personal Enrichment. Palmetto Children’s Health Initiative - Linking every SC child to an affordable and appropriate medical home.
Westgate Family Therapy Teaching Clinic - Provides quality counseling opportunities for families of all economic levels including those who have insurance and those who can only afford a low fee based on income. It is staffed by six faculty members and by students and interns who are in the family therapy program at Converse College. The Westgate Family Therapy Teaching Clinic also trains students and interns to be family therapists. They are under the supervision of experienced and licensed supervisors in family therapy.
